This program provides funding to two institutions that provide postsecondary vocational training to Indian students.

A rating of Results Not Demonstrated (RND) indicates that a program has not been able to develop acceptable performance goals or collect data to determine whether it is performing.
  • The extent to which the program improves outcomes for Indian youth and adults is unknown. Current performance data are not reliable due to flaws in the calculation of the measures. In addition, there is no national evaluation for the program.
  • The Department is not able to compare its performance against other job training programs due to the grantees' difficulty in collecting comparable employment data.

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Determining whether collecting data to allow comparison with other job training programs or minority-serving postsecondary institutions would be informative.
  • Pursuing strategies to improve the quality and consistency of grantee performance data.
  • Providing technical assistance to recipients on improving the quality of performance data.
