  • The Marine Corps' base operating support program supports current and future military requirements. These services are neccessary to ensure that Marine Corps installations are able to contribute to Marines' operational readiness and quality of life.
  • The program lacks outcome-based metrics that would enable military leadership to determine whether base support services are provided at an appropriate level.
  • While the program appears to meet the Marine Corps' needs, the lack of common metrics across the Department of Defense makes it difficult to compare the Marine's Base Operations and Support program with that of other services or private enterprise.
