The Cyber Security program's mission is to ensure the security, resiliency, and reliability of the Nation's cyber infrastructure in collaboration with public and private sector partners.

NOT PERFORMING
Results Not Demonstrated

A rating of Results Not Demonstrated (RND) indicates that a program has not been able to develop acceptable performance goals or collect data to determine whether it is performing.
  • NCSD has not demonstrated progress in achieving ambitious performance goals. NCSD has made some improvement in identifying goals, but has not consistently set targets or tracked performance of their key programs.
  • NCSD has not institutionalized strategic planning into their business processes. The program needs to align strategic goals and prioritized stakeholder deliverables into long-range plans and budget processes to effectively address future cyber security issues.
  • NCSD provides valuable tools and reports to public and private sector cyber security stakeholders. NCSD has developed programs to address key coordination, information-sharing, and security issues for its cyber security stakeholders.

About Improvement Plans

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Collect data for the new performance measures to inform progress and more effective goal setting. The program will also identify additional areas for efficiency measurement.
  • Develop a strategic plan that outlines a strategy to address program deficiencies and cyber security challenges, and incorporate this plan into the budget request.
