Secret Service: Financial and Infrastructure Investigations
The investigations program protects the U.S. financial infrastructure. To do so, the program investigates attacks on our financial industry, including crimes involving fraud, computer crime, identity theft, and counterfeit currency. It also provides manpower to fulfill the dual mission of protecting our Nation's leaders.

PERFORMING Effective
This is the highest rating a program can achieve. Programs rated Effective set ambitious goals, achieve results, are well-managed and improve efficiency.
- The investigations program continues to reduce and prevent financial losses to the public. The program is on track to meet all of its long-term performance targets for preventing the proliferation of counterfeit currency and reducing financial loss to the public due to fraud, computer crime, and identity theft.
- This program routinely partners with other Federal, as well as state, local, and international law enforcement entities, enabling the use of shared resources while avoiding duplication of services. The program's premier partnership vehicles are the Electronic & Financial Crimes Task Forces. Uniquely, task forces feature active membership of prosecuting attorneys, private industry, academia.
- Program resources are effectively managed and allocated to investigate criminal violations on a prioritized basis.

- Provide program managers with program-level performance reports, including efficiency measures.
- Continue to ensure that effectiveness, efficiency and return on investment are emphasized as key components of program evaluations.
