Rating
What This Rating Means |
PERFORMING Effective
This is the highest rating a program can achieve. Programs rated Effective set ambitious goals, achieve results, are well-managed and improve efficiency.
- Independent evaluations show that program management was proper, funding was spent effectively, and the needs of customers were met. Over the last decade, there have been three substantive and comprehensive reviews of the program. These looked at the scope of the program and also its management, effectiveness, and results.
- The program has implemented a number of industry and government best practices and established sound priority and decision making processes to make the most effective use of available resources. Improving the structure of the program has ensured that the program's limited resources are used to achieve maximum benefit toward improving the overall condition of the facilities.
- The program, to a large extent, has mets its annual performance goals; however, resource constraints limit the program's ability to meet its long-term performance goals. The program addresses Smithsonian's highest priority maintenance needs annually, but it is not able to address many other maintenance needs called out in Smithsonian's five-year facilities maintenance plan.
