Rating

What This Rating Means

PERFORMING
Moderately Effective

In general, a program rated Moderately Effective has set ambitious goals and is well-managed. Moderately Effective programs likely need to improve their efficiency or address other problems in the programs' design or management in order to achieve better results.
  • The program purpose is clear. The program is well managed, and provides decision makers, including members of the agricultural sector with clear and objective statistics.
  • Long term measures are largely based on the pecentage of agricultural production covered in surveys and feedback regarding customer satisfaction, such as relevancy; annual performance is measured in terms of the timeliness, accuracy and usefulness of NASS reports. These are relevant since it is critical that the public find NASS data to be useful.
  • NASS works through 125 Memoranda of Understanding and 43 cooperative agreements with other Federal, State or private organizations.
