Traumatic Brain Injury

The Traumatic Brain Injury program provides competitive grants to states to fund coordinated systems for program services. States are expected to generate support from local and private sources to sustain their projects after the Federal grant period expires.

Results Not Demonstrated

A rating of Results Not Demonstrated (RND) indicates that a program has not been able to develop acceptable performance goals or collect data to determine whether it is performing.
  • States have made improvements in their traumatic brain injury treatment processes. Forty-three states have designated a lead agency, conducted a needs and resources assessment of services, and developed a plan to improve services.
  • The program does not have data showing a health impact. The program does not measure the extent to which the program is improving the health and well-being of individuals with traumatic brain injury.
  • The program lacks evaluation data. The program has not had an independent of evaluation to assess the impact of the state traumatic brain injury grants.

  • Collecting data for newly approved long-term measure to determine baseline and targets.
