On-going Pest and Disease Management Program

They work with State and local government and agricultural producers through serveys, regulatory actions and control activities.

Rating

What This Rating Means

PERFORMING
Effective

This is the highest rating a program can achieve. Programs rated Effective set ambitious goals, achieve results, are well-managed and improve efficiency.
  • The program purpose is clear. It addresses a clearly defined problem, and works to effectively target resources to areas most affectd by specific plant and animal infestations.
  • The program is well-managed. It collects timely information, uses strong financial managment practices, and effectively collaborates with other related programs.
  • The program's other long-term and annual measures relate to progress in eliminating or controlling specific pests and diseases. For example, the program is tracking progress in reducing the percentage of cotton affected by boll weevil. Boll weevil free acres, as a percentage of all cotton acreage, increased from 41% in 2002 to 81% in 2005.

Improvement Plan

About Improvement Plans
