  • The program has not been able to develop long-term, outcome oriented performance measures.
  • Lack of strong financial management controls within the program inhibits an efficient use of resources.

About Improvement Plans

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Engaging the DHS Inspector General and other independent evaluators, to develop comprehensive evaluations of effectiveness of the program.
  • Developing a comprehensive strategic plan that includes actions and milestones and outlines specific roles and responsibilities for program partners. To be completed during fiscal year 2007.
  • Establishing ambitious targets for long term, annual and efficiency measures in fiscal year 2007 that correspond to the developed strategic plan. Begin demonstrating results in fiscal year 2008.
