The Facts on Gas Prices: Infographic

Here are the facts: The United States produced more than 2 billion barrels of crude oil in 2011. Domestic oil production has climbed every year since President Obama took office, and our dependence on foreign oil is at its lowest level since the 1990s. But even as we drill more, gas prices continue to rise.

If you want to know why President Obama says that pursuing an all-of-the-above strategy is only way to secure our energy future, check out our infographic that explains the President's plan and its relationship to gas prices.

Americans who watched an online broadcast of President Obama's 2012 State of the Union address saw something a little different: a side by side display of charts, graphs and other visual representations of why the President's policies are so important for our country and our economy.
Infographic:Rebuilding America's Transportation System through the American Jobs Act

America is the country that built the transcontinental railroad and the interstate highway system; the Hoover Dam and Grand Central Station but today, we have roads, bridges, airports and railway lines all across the country that are in need of repair and updating. This afternoon, President Obama was in Cincinnati, Ohio where the Brent Spence Bridge, located on one of the busiest trucking routes in North America, is in such poor condition that it has been labeled functionally obsolete.

The American Jobs Act, a set of ideas supported by both Democrats and Republicans, includes $50 billion for immediate investment in America's infrastructure. This investment not only improves Americans' daily lives by making commutes shorter and safer, but it puts construction workers across the country to work in much needed middle class jobs.

To better understand how the American Jobs Act will improve our nation's infrastructure and put Americans back to work, take a look at the infographic below.

Infographic: The Resurgence of the American Automotive Industry

Today, President Obama will travel to Toledo, Ohio where he will visit the Chrysler Group’s Toledo Supplier Park – an operation that employs more than 1,700 workers producing Jeep Wranglers, Jeep Liberties, and Dodge Nitros. Just two years ago, Chrysler was filing for bankruptcy, and President Obama made the tough decision to support the restructuring of the company rather than allow it to fail – which would have cost tens of thousands of American jobs.

Today, Chrysler is repaying its government loans six years ahead of schedule and posted five consecutive quarters of operating profit. Earlier this week, the National Economic Council released a new report on the resurgence of the American automotive industry. Over the past two years, the auto industry has added 113,000 jobs - the fastest pace of job growth in the auto industry since 1998.

Check out this infographic that highlights some of the key successes in the auto industry since 2009.
