Federal Supplier Greenhouse Gas Management Scorecard
The Federal Government procures more than $400 billion in goods and services each year. The greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with these goods and services are part of our carbon footprint.
In its second year of publication, the Federal Supplier Greenhouse Gas Management Scorecard lists our major suppliers and indicates if the supplier publicly discloses GHG emissions; has established a GHG reduction goal or target, and publicly discloses risk from climate change. The companies on the 2016 Scorecard each received at least $500 million in Federal contracts in Fiscal Year 2015 and together accounted for over 48% of Federal spend.
By making this data public, the Scorecard encourages transparency and promotes GHG disclosure and management by our largest suppliers. Together with our industry partners, the Federal Government can more effectively manage impacts and risks in our supply chain.
