One Year Anniversary Recovery Act Map

Over 55,000 projects across the country have now been funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act – many right in your own backyard. This is just a sampling of some of the ways Recovery Act dollars are at work across the country not only creating jobs, but transforming the American economy for years to come. In 2009, the Recovery Act helped provide immediate relief for a lot of hard-hit businesses and families and important investments were made in funding some of the biggest bang for the economic buck projects across the country. Ground was broken on shovel-ready projects like highway expansions and VA facility upgrades, while dollars were awarded for major innovative projects in areas like advanced battery manufacturing, high speed rail and broadband that will power our 21st century economy. In 2010, work will kick into high gear with construction projects ramping up as the weather thaws and the planning phase of some of the most transformational projects comes to an end. By the time the Recovery Act’s work is done, not only will it have created or saved millions of jobs nationwide, but it will have forever changed American infrastructure and the way we do business in the 21st century.
