Dr. Jill Biden called on all Americans to support our troops and their families in any way they can during a
visit to the Today Show on Tuesday: "We’re Americans, that’s what we do, we support one another."
Dr. Biden joined dozens of volunteers on a mission to pack 5,000 boxes with the USO, but noted that there are endless ways to show support, and even a simple "thank you" can mean a lot:
I try to encourage every American to either call their National Guard unit, or their Army unit, or Marine unit in their area, and say what can I do to help? What that means is that when the families at home are taken care of, our soldiers can then concentrate and focus on the job they’re supposed to do. So if you help by mowing somebody’s lawn, or sending a note to a soldier, or packing boxes like the Today Show is doing today, anything at all, just saying to a soldier that you see in an airport ‘Thank you for your service.’

As Dr. Biden said, there are multiple ways to get involved, so take the time today to think about what you can do to help support the troops. For more information,
