As far as desserts go, it is hard to beat a homemade, fresh-baked cookie. Whether it is oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, or my personal favorite chocolate chip, does it get any better? Well yes, yes it does.
In this week’s edition of “Women Working to Do Good”, HelloGiggles spotlights Gretchen Holt-Witt, a mother who founded ‘Cookies for Kids Cancer’, a non-profit organization that bakes hundreds of batches of cookies nationwide to raise money for kids cancer research. In the profile, the author writes:
“Children today are still receiving treatment that is decades old, because funds would hold up shifting to more sophisticated treatment methods and deny children access to any treatment for several months. Gretchen’s brilliance is in her ability to pinpoint the problem that needs addressing and pursuing it head-on.”
