Working Together at the U.S.-Mexico Border to Promote Prosperity, Safety, and Security

Summary:
The United States and Mexico are working closely as partners to enhance the prosperity and security of the citizens of both countries.

The United States and Mexico work closely as partners to enhance the prosperity and security of the citizens of both countries. For example, we have expanded our collaboration to deepen our $500 billion trading relationship, including through the 2013 launch of the High Level Economic Dialogue.

As part of the shared commitment between the United States and Mexico on economic competitiveness and citizen security, the 21st Century Border Executive Steering Committee met today in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, to continue bilateral efforts to facilitate the secure and efficient flow of trade and travel between our two countries. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Committee released a joint statement and a report, which highlights the substantial progress made to date.
