Last September, Steve P., an emergency physician in South Florida, wrote the President to thank him for his efforts on health insurance reform.
As an emergency physician, Steve said that he's "a witness everyday to both the successes and the shortcomings of our health care system," and sees "how desperately we needed health insurance reform."
And the reform is personal for him. Having a serious pre-existing condition, Steve isn't eligible for health insurance through his job. Now, he's a patient enrolled in quality, affordable health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
"I must admit that I do not always agree with your policy decisions, but I deeply respect you as a president that cares for his responsibilities and tries to do the right thing," Steve wrote. "Thank you for being an honorable leader."
