Welcome Home, Scott Kelly!

Summary:
Watch NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly return to Earth after a record-setting yearlong mission aboard the International Space Station.

Captain Scott Kelly returned safely to Houston, Texas early Thursday morning following a record-setting yearlong mission aboard the International Space Station.

Dr. Jill Biden was there to welcome him home, along with a group of students touring NASA Mission Control Center:

They were joined by Assistant to the President for Science and Technology Dr. John Holdren, NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, Scott Kelly’s identical twin brother and former NASA astronaut and shuttle commander Mark Kelly, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and other members of Scott Kelly’s family.

While aboard the International Space Station, Scott conducted studies on technology development and compared medical data from himself and his twin brother astronaut Mark Kelly to see how the human body responds over time in space. This research will help move our country forward toward President Obama's goal of sending astronauts to Mars by the 2030s.
