Registration Opens for Joining Forces Wellness Week 2016

Summary:
Joining Forces Wellness Week offers training for healthcare professionals to support the wellness needs of our nation's veterans, service members, and their families.

Since the First Lady and Dr. Biden launched Joining Forces in 2011, the medical community has stepped up and answered the call to provide quality support for veterans, service members, and their families. Next week will mark the 5th year that we have been able to offer a unique and informative opportunity for healthcare providers through Joining Forces Wellness Week.

From November 7-11, we will offer training opportunities to healthcare providers interested in learning more about veterans, service members, and their families. The Association of American Medical Colleges, the Center for Deployment Psychology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and PESI will join together to provide free virtual training and free continuing education credits to health providers and students across America.

From 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. ET Each day during Wellness Week, we’ll be hosting an engaging and interactive webinar. The Wellness Week schedule is below:

  • Nov. 7 — Joining Forces to Address Suicide in the Military and Veterans
  • Nov. 8 — Caring for Caregivers
  • Nov. 9 — Pain Management-Nuances for the Military and Veteran Patient Population
  • Nov. 10 — The Deployment Life Cycle of the Military Family: Implications for Healthcare Providers
  • Nov. 11 — What Veterans Want the Healthcare Providers to Know and How Academic Medical Centers Can Contribute
