Archana Sahgal

Senior Associate Director

Archana Sahgal serves as a Senior Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement, where she manages outreach to labor and progressive groups. Prior to joining the White House, she served as Director of the Office of Advisory Committees and Industry Outreach at the U.S. Department of Commerce, working with the private sector to promote job creation and economic growth. Before joining the Administration, Archana worked extensively in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. She was a program officer at the Open Society Foundations, managing the immigration and racial justice portfolios for U.S. Programs. In addition, she has directed the Color of Democracy Fund, and co-founded and directed the Civic Engagement Fund for Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian Communities at Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy. Archana has also worked with the Rosenberg Foundation, the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, EMILY's List, M&R Strategic Services, the National Voting Rights Institute, The San Francisco Foundation, and other organizations. She received her B.A from Claremont McKenna College and her J.D. from the University of California at Davis School of Law. Archana is a member of the California State Bar.
