Brett Bernard received his elementary education degree from Iowa State University and received his master’s degree from the University of Kansas. Brett has been a principal in the Kansas City, Kansas school district for the past 12 years. Two years ago, Brett was named principal of Emerson Elementary, to lead Emerson through the school turnaround model for reform. During his two years at Emerson, the school has made drastic changes to improve instruction, increase parent and community connections, extend learning time for students, and build a culture of excellence and innovation for students and staff.
