Dotty Acampora currently works as a Housing Counselor for Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation, a non-profit housing and service organization and HUD Approved Counseling Agency located at 2400 Potters Road Virginia Beach, VA 23454. She has been with the organization since December 2007 and has helped many households with their financial, credit and housing concerns over the past four years. Her primary focus in this position is counseling clients who are currently facing foreclosure, but she has also worked with first time homebuyers seeking education and assistance with the home buying process and has worked with families seeking assistance in locating affordable rental housing or preventing eviction. Before coming to Virginia Beach CDC, she worked for nineteen years in residential mortgage lending, and prior to that, was also a Realtor for ten years. She is currently a Virginia Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator. In 2008, she served as the President of the Virginia Mortgage Lenders Association and in 2005, she served as the President of the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association.
