Jim Clark

IUE-CWA
Jim Clark, president of IUE-CWA since 2005, is an outspoken advocate for greening the manufacturing process. He has been involved with manufacturing since entering the workforce out of high school. As a member of the Executive Board of the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council, he championed the creation of a Green Production Module to teach industrial workers about environmental practices and regulations. Launched in the fall of 2011, the module is the country’s only nationally certified and portable green tech credential. Within his own union, Clark has spearheaded a front-line worker project to conduct energy efficiency treasure hunts. The joint IUE-CWA and Environmental Defense Fund project aims to focus awareness on energy saving opportunities in day-to-day operations and harness the knowledge and experience of workers to achieve those energy savings. Jim Clark is being recognized as a Champion of Change for his work demonstrating that corporate environmental leadership makes sense, both for business and for American communities.
