John Mayfield

A resident of Ashland City, Tennessee, John Mayfield makes his concern for children’s health and development a part of his life. The charter president of the Cheatham County Kiwanis Club and current lieutenant governor for Division 14 of the Kentucky-Tennessee District of Kiwanis International, he has major supporter of The Eliminate Project—the Kiwanis campaign to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus in more than 30 countries. In November 2011, John was also part of a Kiwanis delegation that traveled to Sierra Leone to see firsthand the tetanus-elimination efforts of UNICEF (Kiwanis’ partner in The Eliminate Project). John’s travels to hard-to-reach rural villages, where he met the women and children who have benefited from UNICEF’s work, bolstered his commitment and has made him a key part of Kiwanis’ efforts to spread information and inspiration about the Global Campaign for Children.
