Lillian Johnson

Lillian Johnson serves as the Executive Director of Community Legal Services, Arizona’s largest nonprofit civil legal aid program, a position she has held since 1982 after relocating from the Chicago area, where she began her career in civil legal aid. For more than 35 years, Lillian has been a passionate advocate for civil legal aid and a driving force in the legal services community. She currently serves on several access to justice related boards and committees, both on the national and local level, working to enhance access to civil legal assistance for those who otherwise could not afford these services in the private sector. Lillian’s career-long devotion to the legal services community has been at the heart of her enormous contribution to the provision of “equal access for justice” for indigent and low-income people.
