Marlon Foster

Reverend Marlon T. Foster is the Founder and Executive Director of Knowledge Quest, a youth and community development organization whose mission is “to vigorously equip youth to maximize their potential through intellectual and character development.” Responding to youth gun violence that caused the death of his childhood best friend, Pierre Ramond Henderson, Marlon struggled for three years after obtaining his undergraduate degree in a relentless effort to make his vision a reality, establishing the organization in 1998 in Memphis, TN. Knowledge Quest is most known for its promotion of academic excellence in after school settings for Memphis’ youth, grades Pre-K through 12, through three programs: Knowledge Quest’s School-Age Academy; Teenage Academy; and Green Leaf Learning Farm. Marlon holds a Bachelor of Business Arts Degree from LeMoyne-Owen College and a Master of Divinity Degree from Memphis Theological Seminary. He is a life-long resident of Memphis, grew up and presently lives, works and worships in the inner city community in which Knowledge Quest is headquartered alongside his wife Sheila, a Spanish Teacher and Consultant, and their three children: Marlon II, Alexandria and Victoria.
