Michael Dillaber

Michael B. Dillaber grew up in Mobile, Alabama and attended Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Christian Ministries. He then worked in Youth Ministries across the southeast including Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee. Mike later returned to Mobile and joined the University of South Alabama Wesley Foundation where he served as the Executive Director and Campus Minister for more than seven years. Mike became involved in disaster response and recovery following Hurricane Opal while serving as the Disaster Response Coordinator for the Andalusia District-United Methodist Church in 1989. He has since provided disaster response leadership for the Alabama Gulf Coast for every major hurricane including George, Danny, Ivan, Dennis and Katrina. Michael served The State of Alabama in the oil spill response and recovery efforts in association with the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Currently, Mike serves as Special Projects Program Director with The Community Foundation of South Alabama for the South Alabama Community Network. Mike stays actively involved in the Alabama VOAD and is currently serving as President. Michael is the Past-President of the Mobile County VOAD organization (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster). He also served as the Director of Disaster Response and Recovery with Volunteer Mobile until July 2009. Mike resides in the city of Mobile with his wife Stacy and 10 year old son, Benjamin.
