Deputy Director for the Office of Digital Strategy
Sarah Bernard joined the White House as Director of Online Engagement in April 2010 and currently serves as Deputy Director for the Office of Digital Strategy. Prior to this role, she was most recently the CEO of Barrington Interactive, a network of more than 20 local television station sites funded by Bob Pittman’s Pilot Group. Prior to Barrington, Bernard held numerous internet leadership roles including, the founding President of IAC’s 23/6, the first General Manager of The Huffington Post, VP and General Manager for AOL’s first line extension, AOL for Small Business, and Director of Business Development at washingtonpost.com. A native of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, Bernard received her BA in English from UCLA and her MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at NYU.
