Sister Rosa Maria Ruiz, C.F.M.M.

Sr. Rosa Maria Ruiz, C.F.M.M., has served Catholic education for over 50 years. She has been Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Tucson in Arizona since June 1997. As Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Tucson, Sister has: revised the entire Catholic schools policies four times over the years to keep information and best practices current; developed guidelines, trained personnel and directed the development of the Crisis Management Plan for all 26 Catholic schools in the Diocese; adjusted salary scales to a level of justice for teachers throughout the Diocese; initiated an endowment program for all Catholic schools to ensure their future financial stability; created protocols to ensure all Catholic schools within the Diocese are properly accredited; encouraged various school building and renovation projects, and has seen the opening of three new high schools and an elementary school; and directed the development of each school’s Strategic Plan.
