Deborah Shephard

President, Lake Area Technical Institute

Deborah Shephard is President of Lake Area Technical Institute (LATI), a post-secondary technical college with over 1600 students enrolled in 27 different programs. Seventy-five percent of LATI students persist to graduation due largely to individual graduation plans, an engaged staff, and close partnerships with related businesses and industries. Ninety-eight percent get jobs or continue their education upon graduation. The Lake Area Technical Institute was recently selected as one of ten finalists for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
