Dr. Hector Gonzales
Chief Academic and Financial Officer, Southwest Texas Junior College
Dr. Hector Gonzales has been at Southwest Texas Junior College for 13 years. Today he is the Chief Academic and Chief Financial Officer. The combination of these two distinct roles has allowed him to be a transformative agent of change. His perspective balances the gap between instructional theory and financial realities, allowing the college to adopt institutional and instructional policies that emphasize student success. On September 13th, Southwest Texas Junior College was selected as one of ten finalists for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
