LaTosha is an award-winning community organizer with over 20 years of experience working on a wide variety of issues related to social justice and civil rights. LaTosha was a founding member of the Gulf Coast Fund Advisory Group and has served as a consultant to the Fund since 2007 and was appointed by the Advisors to be the first Director of the Gulf Coast Fund in June 2010. The organization provides grants to grassroots groups in the region to promote local organizing and empowerment, and it has been involved in the rebuilding effort after Hurricane Katrina and the BP oil spill.
