President will welcome the WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury to the White House to honor the team’s 2009 championship season. In conjunction with this event, members of the team will participate in a service project with local area youth during their visit to Washington, D.C. This continues a tradition begun by President Obama of sports champions serving in the community as part of their visit. This event in the State Dining Room is open press.
