The American Auto Industry: A Comeback Story

Twenty months ago, the American auto industry was on the brink of collapse and many thought it was being left behind. This summer, the industry has rebounded in ways that few thought possible, and has begun to retool to make the vehicles of the future. Plants are hiring more workers, manufacturers are returning to profitability, exports of U.S. vehicles are increasing and some of the most technologically advanced vehicles are now being designed and produced in this country.
