CAS Board – 59th Meeting
February 11, 2010

Chairman Daniel Gordon, the Administrator, Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), convened the 59th meeting of the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Board (CASB) on February 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. ET.  The meeting was conducted via teleconference.  CASB Members April Stephenson and Kathleen Turco, as well as Bruce Timman and Richard Wall, were on the conference call.  Also on the conference call were Jeffrey Liebman, OMB Executive Associate Director; Mathew Blum, OFPP Associate Administrator; Raymond Wong, CASB Director; and Eric Shipley and Lawrence Rabyne, CASB Staff.

CAS Pension Harmonization

Mr. Gordon introduced himself to the other CASB Members as this was his first CASB meeting since he was confirmed as the OFPP Administrator.  The CASB Members and Staff briefed the general background and status of the CAS pension harmonization rulemaking case.  The CASB reviewed the goals established previously by the CASB to guide its rulemaking in the case.  Mr. Gordon led a discussion on the various options and scenarios pertinent to the rulemaking for CAS pension harmonization with the Pension Protection Act (PPA).  Mr. Gordon thanked the Members and Staff for their input and stated that he planned to brief OMB senior executives on the draft Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on CAS pension harmonization with PPA.

The CASB Chair, Mr. Gordon, adjourned the meeting at 3:00 P.M.
