National Prevention Strategy

On June 16, 2011, the National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council announced the release of the National Prevention Strategy (NPS), a comprehensive plan to help increase the number of Americans who are healthy at every stage of life. Called for under the Affordable Care Act, the NPS was developed by the National Prevention Council, which is chaired by the Surgeon General and composed of 17 Federal agencies.
