Office of National Drug Control Policy

Submit your nominations for Advocates for Action

Do you know someone who is doing extraordinary things to make a difference in your community?  Nominate them to be an ONDCP Advocate for Action!

This year, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) will honor a select number of individuals and organizations doing exemplary work to bring the National Drug Control Strategy to life.  Whether it’s working to provide education and job opportunities for youth, developing groundbreaking programs to break the cycle of drug use and crime, conducting innovative research that expands our understanding of how drugs affect the human body, expanding treatment opportunities, or preventing drug use before it starts, today’s Advocates for Action are making a difference by reducing drug use and its consequences.

Several of the selected honorees will be featured in the Administration’s 2013 National Drug Control Strategy. The Strategy expands upon a balanced approach to drug control that emphasizes community-based drug prevention, integration of drug treatment into the mainstream healthcare system, innovations in the criminal justice system, and international partnerships to disrupt transnational criminal organizations.

Now we want to hear from YOU about who is making a difference in your community. Please use the form below to submit your nominations before September 1, 2012.  Honorees will be notified no later than September 21, 2012.  A new Advocate for Action will be profiled on the ONDCP website every month leading up to the release of the new Strategy in the spring of 2013, and all of the Advocates for Action will be invited to participate in a larger event with Director Kerlikowske in conjunction with the Strategy’s release.
