First Lady Michelle Obama applauds as President Barack Obama delivers remarks on the importance of getting veterans into the civilian workforce, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Va., Oct. 19, 2011. The President discussed an initiative in the American Jobs Act that would offer a series of tax credits to employers who hire veterans. During the event, the First Lady also announced a commitment from the private sector to hire 25,000 veterans and military spouses as part of the Joining Forces initiative.
