President Obama Gives a Challenge Coin to Kids Science Advisors

President Barack Obama gives a Challenge Coin to Jacob Leggette and 10 other Kids Science Advisors in the Oval Office, Oct. 21, 2016. Leggette met the President earlier this year at the White House Science Fair where the nine-year-old inventor suggested bringing together a group of kids to share their thoughts on science. After putting out a call for ideas, the White House selected these 11 students for the Kids Science Advisor program from the 2,500 students around the country who submitted their ideas on science, technology, engineering and math education. In addition to the President, the group met with Dr. John Holdren, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy; astronauts Scott and Mark Kelly; NASA Director Charles Bolden; and France Cordova, Director of the National Science Foundation.
