In 1974, Jean Kennedy Smith founded Very Special Arts, a nonprofit organization that promotes the artistic talents of young people living with disabilities. Smith also served as an Ambassador to Ireland during the Clinton administration and played a pivotal role in the peace process in Northern Ireland.
