In the Next 100 Days:
Begin Work on Rehabilitation and Improvement Projects at 98 Airports and over 1,500 Highway Locations Throughout the Country

Why?  The nation’s transportation system is vital to our economic growth and efficiency. Congested airports and crippled roadways stifle this growth. Recovery Act funds will assist with construction of additional airport runways to increase capacity as well as the repaving of our nation’s roads to increase travel efficiency. These actions will enable more growth in the 21st Century.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is a strategic and significant investment in our country’s future. The Act will save and create jobs immediately while also laying the foundation for a robust and sustainable 21st century economy by modernizing our health care, improving our schools, modernizing our infrastructure, and investing in the clean energy technologies of the future.
