This convening will highlight existing state and local efforts to prevent gun violence, provide a forum for state and local officials to share information about those actions, and encourage new commitments to take action – whether through legislative change or executive approaches. The convening will also demonstrate another step forward by the Administration to do all we can do to help communities with gun violence.

This week, the Vice President rounded out his trip overseas with a visit to both the Holy See and the Eternal City -- and the First Lady headed to Los Angeles and Missouri. The President bid farewell to the current class of White House interns, hosted some of the biggest names in jazz, honored the teacher of the year & Cinco de Mayo, traveled to Flint, Michigan, and gave his final toast and roast at the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner. Last week we left you in Saudi Arabia, and this week, the President continued his travels abroad. In London, he met with the Queen, the Prime Minister, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and actors bringing Shakespeare to life. In Germany, he witnessed innovation and technology hard at work at the Hannover Messe Fair. And back in Washington, DC, the President hosted the U.S. Naval Academy football team and celebrated Passover. That's April 22nd to April 28th or, "Let's Have a Conversation."
