Obama Administration Officials to Meet with Great Lakes Governors Regarding Asian Carp on February 8, 2010

WASHINGTON. DC Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and Obama Administration officials from the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of the Interior, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Coast Guard will meet with Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle, and Illinois Governor Pat Quinn on February 8, 2010 regarding Asian carp and the Great Lakes.  The meeting will take place at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) at the White House.  

In a letter responding to Governors Granholm and Doyle on January 20, 2010, Sutley suggested a meeting during the first week of February to discuss strategies to combat the spread of Asian carp and ensure coordination and the most effective response across all levels of government.
