White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair to Visit Guam March 22-23 to Assess Potential Environmental Impacts of the Expansion of Military Facilities

WASHINGTON, DC – White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair Nancy Sutley will join other Federal officials in Guam on March 22-23, 2010, to assess the potential environmental impacts of the expansion of military facilities.  Chair Sutley will tour the island, visit infrastructure and military construction sites, and meet with legislators and community members to ensure the proposed actions to protect America’s national security also protect Guam’s natural resources and the health of its residents.  She will hold a media availability at the University of Guam Water and Environmental Research Institute on Monday.
