El Presidente Obama anuncia su intención de nominar a Katherine Archuleta como Directora de la Oficina de Administración de Personal

 WASHINGTON, DC – En el día de hoy, el Presidente Barack Obama dio a conocer su intención de nominar a Katherine Archuleta como Directora de la Oficina de Administración de Personal. Si se le confirma, ella será la primera latina en dirigir la agencia.

El Presidente Obama dijo que, “Katherine trae a la Oficina de Administración de Personal una amplia experiencia y un sólido compromiso a contratar y retener una fuerza laboral de primera clase para el pueblo americano. Estoy muy agradecido de que Katherine haya accedido a servir y me entusiasma la idea de trabajar con ella en los próximos años”.

Katherine Archuleta sirvió más recientemente como Directora Política Nacional de Obama for America, una posición que ocupó de 2011 a 2012. Antes de eso, la Srta. Archuleta sirvió de Jefe de Personal del Departamento de Trabajo de los Estados Unidos de 2009 a 2011. De octubre de 2005 a mayo de 2009, ella fue Asesora Principal sobre Política e Iniciativas para la Ciudad y el Condado de Denver, Colorado. Anteriormente, fue Directora Ejecutiva de la Fundación Nacional del Centro Cultural Hispano de 2002 a 2005. La Srta. Archuleta fue Directora de Servicios Profesionales en Davis, Graham and Stubbs, LLP de 2000 a 2002 y Co-fundadora y Comitente del Centro de Acción Regional y Comunitario de 1997 a 2000. Fue Asesora Principal de Política en el Departamento de la Energía de EE.UU. en 1997. Entre 1993 y 1997, la Srta. Archuleta prestó servicios en el Departamento del Transporte de EE.UU., primero como Jefe Adjunto de Personal y posteriormente como Jefe de Personal. Fue profesora adjunta en la Universidad de Denver de 1992 a 1993. Anteriormente, laboró en diversas funciones en la Oficina del Alcalde de Denver entre 1983 y 1991, incluyendo Jefe Adjunto de Personal. La Srta. Archuleta se graduó con un título de B.A. del Metropolitan State College y una maestría en educación de la Universidad de Northern Colorado.

President Obama Announces His Intent to Nominate Katherine Archuleta as Director of the Office of Personnel Management

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, President Barack Obama announced his intent to nominate Katherine Archuleta as Director of the Office of Personnel Management.  If confirmed, she will be the first Latina to head the agency.

President Obama said, “Katherine brings to the Office of Personnel Management broad experience and a deep commitment to recruiting and retaining a world-class workforce for the American people.  I am grateful Katherine has agreed to serve, and I look forward to working with her in the coming years.”

President Obama announced his intent to nominate Katherine Archuleta as Director of the Office of Personnel Management:

Katherine Archuleta most recently served as National Political Director for Obama for America, a position she held from 2011 to 2012.  Prior to this, Ms. Archuleta served as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Labor from 2009 to 2011.  From October 2005 to May 2009, she served as a Senior Advisor on Policy and Initiatives for the City and County of Denver, Colorado.  Previously, she served as the Executive Director of the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation from 2002 to 2005.  Ms. Archuleta was the Director of Professional Services for Davis, Graham and Stubbs, LLP from 2000 to 2002 and Co-Founder and Principal of the Center for Regional and Neighborhood Action from 1997 to 2000.  She served as Senior Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy in 1997.  From 1993 to 1997, Ms. Archuleta served at the U.S. Department of Transportation, first as Deputy Chief of Staff and then as Chief of Staff.  She served as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver from 1992 to 1993.  Prior to that, she worked in a number of roles in the Office of the Mayor of Denver from 1983 to 1991, including Deputy Chief of Staff.  Ms. Archuleta received a B.A. from Metropolitan State College and a M.Ed. from the University of Northern Colorado.
