Dr. Jill Biden Travels to Paris, France to Advance Girls’ Education and Women’s Empowerment
Dr. Jill Biden is traveling to Paris, France to advance girls’ education and continued opportunities for the economic empowerment of women around the world.
While in Paris, Dr. Biden will deliver remarks at an Iftar dinner, the traditional breaking of the fast at sunset, in observance of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. This event at the Ambassador’s Residence on Sunday evening is pooled press.
On Monday, Dr. Biden will visit Lycée hotelier Guillaume Tirel, a hospitality vocational school, and have the opportunity to meet a group of promising high school culinary students. This event is open press.
On Tuesday, Dr. Biden will deliver remarks at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) headquarters in Paris to promote the need for gender equality in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Design, and Math (STEAM) education, and the importance of encouraging more women and girls to pursue careers in these fields. On Tuesday evening, Dr. Biden will depart Paris, France en route Washington, DC.
