Working with local leadership, the President is proposing to align a number of his signature revitalization community initiatives to ensure that federal programs and resources are focused intensely on 20 communities hardest hit by the recession.
Under the leadership of the Obama Administration, the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness created the first federal strategic plan to end homelessness, with specific targets for chronic homelessness, as well as homeless Veterans, children, youth, and families.
Limited access and consumption of fresh healthy food, especially produce, can lead to significant health impacts including diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic illnesses. The Obama Administration is committed to ensuring all families have access to healthy and affordable foods.
The Obama Administration created the Partnership for Sustainable Communities to better equip localities with the tools and resources to implement environmentally and economically sustainable development plans.
