Submit your nominations for Advocates for Action

Do you know someone doing extraordinary things to make a difference in your community? Nominate them to be an ONDCP Advocate for Action!

This year, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) will be honoring a select number of individuals and organizations that are doing exemplary work to bring the National Drug Control Strategy to life. Whether it’s working to give education and job opportunities to youth, developing innovative alternatives to incarceration that help break the cycle of drug abuse and crime, conducting research that expands our understanding of the impact of drugs on the brain, or preventing drug use before it starts, today’s Advocates for Action are making an impact by reducing drug use and its consequences

Several of the selected honorees will be featured in the 2014 National Drug Control Strategy. The Administration’s Strategy expands upon a balanced approach to drug control that emphasizes community-based drug prevention, integration of drug treatment into the mainstream health care system, innovations in the criminal justice system, and international partnerships to disrupt transnational drug trafficking organizations.

And now, we want to hear from YOU about who is making a difference in your community — please submit your nominations before November 8, 2013 to OIPL@ondcp.eop.gov. Honorees will be notified no later than December 1, 2013, will be profiled on the ONDCP website leading up to our 2014 National Drug Control Strategy release, and will then be invited to participate in a larger event with Director Kerlikowske in the Spring.

We greatly appreciate your time and thoughts in making a nomination. Please email OIPL@ondcp.eop.gov should you have additional questions. Thank you again for all the work you do in your community, and we hope to hear from you soon!
