Amy Rasmussen

Amy Rasmussen serves as the Executive Director of Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education - whose mission is to increase students’ academic success, critical thinking and creativity through research-based, arts driven education. She has guided CAPE through a period of substantial programmatic and financial growth. Under her tenure, CAPE has quadrupled the number of schools it serves, its staff and budget. CAPE has been the recipient of several US Department of Education Arts Education Model Development & Dissemination Grants, which has enabled the organization to further its research on the impact of the arts on learning. Amy is committed to improving the policy environment for arts education. She served as a leader in the Chicago Arts Learning Initiative – a city-wide effort to plan, coordinate, and deliver arts education for Chicago students, which resulted in establishing a new organization, Ingenuity Incorporated devoted to furthering those efforts. She is on the board of The Orange School in Chicago – an arts-based charter school. In addition, she is on the Advisory Boards for the Chicago Arts Educators’ Forum, the Union League Club of Chicago’s Safe Youth Chicago Initiative, and the Marian Catholic High School Metro Chicago Alumni Association. Amy holds an M. A. in Arts Entertainment and Media Management from Columbia College and a B. A. in Music from DePaul University.
