Fatima co-founded Iftiin, the Somali Forum for Leadership and Development to connect professionals, students and communities in the global Somali Diaspora. During the famine crisis this past summer, Iftiin mobilized awareness campaigns and helped raise thousands for aid organizations by utilizing Facebook, Twitter and professional networks. Iftiin also partnered with The African Future, one of the first groups to distribute famine relief inside Somalia. As an independent consultant, she also conducted research to inform private donors of relief and development efforts in the Horn. Fatima graduated in 2009 from Stanford University and is currently a first year student in the JD/MPH degree program at Harvard Law School and Harvard School of Public Health.
