Champions of Change: Chefs & Let's Move
Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese. Everyone has a role to play in reducing childhood obesity and this week we’re highlighting chefs who have risen to the challenge. These Champions of Change are using their expertise as chefs to bring nutritious food and healthy habits into schools in their communities.

Cathal Armstrong
Cathal Armstrong is the chef-owner of Restaurant Eve in Alexandria, VA and was one of Food & Wine magazine's Ten Best New Chefs of 2006.

Garrett Berdan, RD
Garrett is a registered dietitian and chef. He is a member of the School Nutrition Association and First Lady Michelle Obama's Chefs Move to Schools program.

Carlin Breinig
Carlin Breinig is a Certified Personal Chef, a member of The Personal Chefs Cooperative, Women Chefs and Restaurateurs and a speaker at national conferences.

Timothy Cipriano
Chef Timothy Cipriano is the Executive Director of Food Services for New Haven Public Schools. In March, Chef Tim was asked to help coordinate a program for chefs to adopt schools, part of the First Lady's Let's Move! campaign.

Chef Steven Jayson is the Executive Chef of Universal Resort Group worldwide with an excess of 25 years of experience in the culinary field.

Cyndie Story, RD
Chef Cyndie Story, RD, has worked with programs nationwide to train school nutrition employees at the kitchen level as a certified chef and registered dietitian, with a Doctorate degree in Food and Lodging Management.
